Overview
With resources including a who’s who of visiting faculty, lectures and exhibitions that parse current design culture across disciplines and access to assets such as the Aga Khan Program and the Joint Center for Housing Studies (not to mention the Harvard Forest, the Arnold Arboretum, Dumbarton Oaks and the Harvard Center for the Environment), Harvard’s graduate landscape-architecture program, offered through its School of Design, is well situated to carry through on its lofty institutional goal: “a more equitable distribution of ecological and environmental resources” for “the creation of better futures across all regions of the world.” Coursework is designed to instill students with a firm understanding of all aspects of the field, the ability to advocate for landscape rescue and conservation and an outside-the-box mindset primed to keep up with the ever-changing issues challenging the built environment.
