1 Bright collection by Maharam
Artist Liam Gillick created the installation inside Maharam’s Merchandise Mart showroom for NeoCon, bringing all the textiles forward in sumptuous hanging panels. The Dutch duo Scholten & Baijings presented its second collection for the brand – the Bright Grid, Bright Angle, and Bright Cube fabrics – which also stood out as the upholstery on cushions throughout the display. It comes in a fluorescent spectrum of specially dyed nylon yarns, demonstrating the studio’s fantastic way with colour and pattern.

2 Deltacoustic by Carnegie and Création Baumann
These soft polyester curtain fabrics – shimmering sheers with sound absorption properties – are made with an ultra-technical weave and in a range of neutral tones.

3 Check-Up collection by Designtex
High-performance and pleasing to the eye, these coated fabrics for the healthcare sector are bleachable to prevent the spread of infection. The collection of 10 textiles – in polyurethane, nylon and vinyl – comes in a vivid palette and energetic patterns.

4 The Adjaye Collection for Knoll Textiles
London architect David Adjaye, currently at work on the National Museum of African American History and Culture, collaborated with Knoll Textiles’ creative director Dorothy Cosonas on a collection of weaves inspired by African geography, nature and culture. Making up a fraction of the collection, these geometric upholsteriy patterns also make reference to the permanent collection of the Cooper Hewitt, and to Adjaye’s own art.

5 Cocoon by Unika Vaev
This nubbly bouclé is part of the Fusion Collection, made up of wool fabrics that emphasize touchable texture. It’s inspired by “wet, sandy, stony hues embedded in layers of rock, sea mist and damp greenery” and comes in eight colourways.
