1 RoomWizard by Steelcase
In partnership with Corning, Steelcase introduces Gorilla Glass for its RoomWizard room scheduling device. This combines the technology to quickly find and reserve open meeting spaces with the first EPA-registered antimicrobial cover glass to inhibit the growth of algae, mould, mildew, fungi, and bacteria.
2 Alexander Girard by Skyline Design
Alexander Girard’s grandson Kori will be on hand to launch this collection, which features the mid-century architect’s graphic patterns etched onto Skyline’s interior glass. The 10 designs are available up to 72 by 144 inches in all standard glass thicknesses.
3 Collective Time by Shaw Contract Group
This tile and broadloom collection was inspired by the shifting light captured from day to night. Manufactured with recycled, durable and stain resistant Solution Q Extreme fibre, Collective Time is ideal for healthcare applications but can be used in other commercial spaces. Its five styles can be mix-and-matched.
4 Nexus by Knoll Textiles
Knoll Textiles partnered with New York designer and artist Kari Pei for a series of visually textured wallcoverings, printed on high-performance vinyl with 30 per cent recycled polyester, which lend a 3-D effect. Nexus is one of four lines by Pei for Knoll to be launched at NeoCon.
5 Human Nature by Interface
Interface was inspired by forest floors, grassy fields and pebbled garden paths in creating this recycled nylon carpet tile collection. It features five skinny plank patterns, measuring 25 by 100 centimetres, in neutrals and bolds, that can be combined for the look of seamless broadloom or area rugs.
6 Aria by Inscape
The elegant Aria is a light movable wall composed of extruded aluminum and single or double-glazed, laminated and tempered glass (which can be personalized for a unique aesthetic or enhanced privacy) in natural anodized, matte black and white.
7 Trea by Humanscale
New York designer Todd Bracher created this seat for a variety of spaces, such as conference areas and cafeterias or residential dining rooms and home offices. It contains a mechanism that automatically adjusts to the user’s body for up to 12 degrees of recline, maintaining a balanced posture and providing lumbar support. Available in four-leg, four-star and cantilever.
8 Openest by Haworth
This lounge seating by Patricia Urquiola (who designed Haworth’s showroom), was launched as a nameless concept last year; now it is officially in production. Openest includes a family of sofas, chairs, small tables and configurable screens.
9 Marmoleum Modular by Forbo
This modular collection comprises 44 colours and three square and rectangular sizes to create infinite patterns including chevron and herringbone. It’s bio-based, made from renewable materials, and features antimicrobial and antistatic properties to improve indoor air quality and resist bacteria growth without chemical additives.
10 Wallace Sewell by Designtex
UK textile weavers Emma Sewell and Harriet Wallace-Jones devised four lambswool upholstery fabrics inspired by Anni Albers and the vibrant city of London. The non-repeat graphic textiles are woven by a fellow Royal College of Art alum at Hields Bros textile mill in the town of West Yorkshire.
11 Side By Side by Davis
Curved lines define the mid- and high-backed chairs of Davis’s modular furniture line that can be interchanged with low tables, creating endless combinations of seating from small private booths to large winding sectionals.
12 <5_MY by Coalesse
Hong Kong architect Michael Young’s stacking chair (up to four high) weighs only five pounds yet can support 300. For indoor or outdoor use, <5_MY is composed of ultra-light and strong carbon fibre and comes in an infinite number of colours.
13 BuzziPicNic by BuzziSpace
Belgian furniture designer Alain Gilles reinterpreted the traditional picnic table for a collaborative indoor workspace in the office by incorporating electrical strips within its frame enabling connectivity and wire management. It can be paired with a series of BuzziBenches.
14 Colina by Arper
Devised by Barcelona’s Lievore Altherr Molina, this family of soft yet sculptural seating offers a bevy of options including three sizes upholstered in fabric or leather, and bases in cantilevered, sled or four-legged wood.
15 2014 Collection by Arborite
The Montreal high-pressure laminate manufacturer presents a collection of 25 patterns that range from FSC-certified woods (such as American elm and cherry), to ones that take inspiration from African grasses and Japanese textiles. The Greenguard-certified low-emission surfacing significantly reduces indoor air pollution in commercial, residential, hospitality or healthcare environments.
