Reading I recently discovered The Garlic Ballads, by the Chinese writer Mo Yan. It’s the true story of ordinary people’s tragic lives, told with a dispassionate voice – almost distant but extremely observant.

Watching The 2015 Danish-German movie Land of Mine, by Martin Zandvliet, is remarkable for its unveiling of unpleasant events, barely described in Danish history books, that nevertheless took place in 1945. Simple but well done and very painful.

Listening I love jazz and classical music, but have the complete Tom Waits in my car – he’s the best medicine against loneliness on long drives to manufacturers, which are often several hours from our studio in Copenhagen.
