In a building that stood vacant for nearly a decade on Abbott Street, Montauk has found a home for its newest showroom. First a hotel and then a Chinese restaurant, the expansive 5,557 square-meter space was dramatically retrofitted into a homely showroom by the company’s chief furniture designer Danny Chartier and local architecture firm Mallen Gowling Berzins – who have also worked on projects for Brooks Brothers and Lacoste.

While most of the original bones remained untouched, the team did add a U-shaped mezzanine. Spanning the two levels, the showroom’s minimalist, loft-style interior retains many of the historical building’s details. Red bricks and concrete blocks line walls punctuated by steel and wood beams. Natural light pours in from the building’s skylights and the glazed storefront entrance.

Operated by interior designer Ivan Quintana, the new location will carry many of Montauk’s signature pieces as well as its line of objects d’art sourced from European antique markets.
