1 Rolling Workspace by Kokuyo
For Japanese furniture manufacturer Kokuyo, Nendo has designed an installation that puts a new spin on the ubiquitous whiteboard. By turning the medium into a circle that can be rolled throughout an office, the aim is to foster creativity by encouraging workers to brainstorm in spiral or radial forms instead of linear. The simple shape is lined on one side with sound-absorbing fabric and works in tandem with a series of slotted tables and benches that the boards can slide into, becoming privacy dividers.
2 Rail by Zeitraum
At the off-site showroom Design Post Köln, Zeitraum will be debut Rail, a versatile table system of joint-free surfaces and trestle-style legs in differing heights. Designed by local firm Kaschkasch, the components combine to create table options as work, conference, dinner, café and bistro. The collection also includes benches and acoustical elements.
3 Starting Point by Luum Textiles
A new brand by Teknion, Luum Textiles is making its international debut with this collection of upholstery and wall textiles by creative director Suzanne Tick. Comprising six patterns and textures, the series was inspired by pre-digital techniques and traditional hand-weaving. Shown is Perilune, a PVC-free covering with a moon-cycle motif printed in matte ink in a dozen colours.
4 BuzziFloat by BuzziSpace
The Belgian brand expands its seating collection this fall, with one addition being this light-weight model by Alain Gilles Studio. With a wide, open back and cushioned seat, BuzziFloat makes for a generous and comfortable task, desk or dining chair. There are three base options available: four-legged metal or wood, and five-legged metal with casters.
5 Workspace collection by Tom Dixon
Applying his signature style to office furniture for the first time, British designer Tom Dixon will introduce at Orgatec 2016 a range of pieces that are at once functional, flexible and handsome. Included in the collection are Boom, a sculptural task light that strips back the traditional draftsman lamp to an arrangement of cylinders and tubes, and Slab, a solid oak Victorian school desk-inspired table with rounded corners.
