Responsibilities
- To identify a qualified Urban Designer to support the City Design (architecture, master planning and urban design) Team Lead forming part of the Singapore Cities & Planning Team.
- Based in Singapore, to support in developing our urban design capability; specifically, to significantly bolster our ability to shape transit and city shaping projects from conception and planning through to delivery – focussed on Singapore and South East Asia.
- To assist with growing the Planning business and capability in Integrated Cities Planning, requiring experience working on urban design in the public domain and masterplanning at city and regional scale.
- Ensure that the various functions associated with your role are undertaken within required timeframes and standards and under minimal supervision;
- May be responsible for the development, design and management of some projects. This will involve coordinating people, facilities and resources within tight timelines and in line with budgetary constraints;
- Project and bid support for the urban design component of masterplanning, transit orientated development and city shaping projects;
- To support the coordination of tasks and functions in collaboration with the Leaders;
- This role will require a high level of coordination of tasks and deliverables for both internal and external stakeholders;
- Alternate point of contact for all persons seeking the City Design leader if not available;
- To execute responsibilities as outlined in the firm’s Health &Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
Key Technical Skills
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in urban design;
- At least 6 years of experience as an Urban Designer on large multi-disciplinary city shaping projects
- Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership;
- Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines in Singapore
- Highly competent user of:
- Adobe suites (in-design, illustrator, photoshop)
- 3D software such as rhino (with grasshopper/ scripting), sketch-up
- CAD softwares (e.g. autocad), knowing revit is an advantage
- Hand sketching
- Microsoft powerpoint

- Effective written communication and report writing skills
- Ability to maintain personal effectiveness particularly during periods of higher than normal workload;

- Ability to understand the balance of priorities on differing projects;
- Ability to demonstrate strong commercial awareness and consultation skills
