Strengths
Architecture education from the organization that played a central role in modernizing its teaching in the U.K. in the 1930s, a global perspective via the huge number of students from abroad.
Overview

The AA’s program boasts an “innovative, project-directed form of teaching” and “increasingly collaborative, experimental approaches to architectural education, refining a model of open, participatory study.” Chosen from applicants who “share [the AA’s] view that architecture is both a professional and cultural form of human activity, enquiry and knowledge,” undergrads work alone and together in a shared studio space in the midst of the main school and in various tutorials, seminars, workshops and presentations. Post-graduate students can choose from one of 11 paths of study.

Notable alumni

Denise Scott Brown, Richard Rogers, Peter Cook, Elia Zenghelis, Rem Koolhaas, Zaha Hadid
